The Band

L – R: Dave Ray, James Douglas, Glenda Joyce, Dennis Wayne, Joe Allen, Roger Dean

Older Hickory is a group of musicians who have been writing songs together for decades. The group was founded by Joe Allen and Roger Dean. They have a natural chemistry that has allowed them to create a unique sound that is both timeless and original.

Joe Allen is a multi-instrumentalist, playing bass, acoustic and electric guitars, as well as keyboards. His ability to switch between instruments seamlessly allows him to add depth and complexity to the group’s music. Roger Dean is the electric guitar player and lead vocalist of the group. His guitar riffs and solos are always on point, and his lyrics are deep and poetic.

Glenda Joyce is the drummer and percussionist of the group. She is a master of the cajon, djembe, and other hand drums. Her rhythms are the backbone of the group’s sound, and her energy and passion are contagious.

James Douglas is the synthesizer and hammered dulcimer specialist of the group. He is a master of analog and digital synthesizers and brings a unique and futuristic quality to the group’s sound. His solos are always epic and his mastery of sound design allows him to create complex and atmospheric textures that elevate the group’s music to a whole new level. He was also kicked out of more groups in high school than he could count and just played music on his own until meeting the rest of the group.

Dennis Wayne is a pianist and keyboardist. He adds a delicate touch to the group’s sound and is a master of the grand piano and various keyboards. His melodic lines are always hauntingly beautiful. He also loves tomatoes, but they give him hangnails.

Dave Ray is the youngest and most recent addition to the group. As a guitarist and mandolin player, he specializes in all acoustic guitars and adds a folksy touch to the group’s sound. His mandolin solos are always a crowd pleaser.

Older Hickory has always been a close-knit group of friends. They value their relationships with each other, their families, and their community. Their music is a reflection of their values, and they use it as a way to connect with others and spread joy and positivity.

In their spare time, Older Hickory enjoys spending time with their pets, exploring the outdoors, and trying new foods. They believe that these experiences help to inspire their music and keep them grounded.

Years pass, and Older Hickory continues to write and play music together. They have remained true to their roots, and their music has only grown richer and more meaningful over time.

Older Hickory may not be famous, but they have something special. They have a connection that goes beyond music, and they know that they are blessed to have each other.

In the end, Older Hickory knows that their legacy will be in the music they create together. They pour their hearts and souls into every song, and they know that their music will live on long after they are gone.
